The new season is about to begin for us.  The plants are already putting on new growth.  We have a new timetable for the volunteer gardening work which is most Tuesday mornings between 10 and 12 and the 4th Saturday in the month.  Our Open Day is booked for Sunday, 5 August 2018, 10.30am to 3pm with 2 free conducted tours at 11am and 2pm.  We’ll be putting out more news nearer the time.  We’ll continue to collect all known Hydrangea paniculata as well as unusual cultivars of the other types.  We’re working on more permanent directional signage from the Darley Park café and looking into making a new bed at the north end of the walled garden.  Bed C is getting a makeover.  The gates of the walled garden will open as usual at the end of July when the flowers are at their best.  The collapsed wall is due to be mended before that happens.  We have 2 new benches for sitting, viewing, admiring, resting and soaking up the atmosphere.
