In “Hydrangeas forAmericanGardens,” by Michael A. Dirr (2004), it says that this is a superior form introduced by Tom Dodd III and named after the late Lynn Lowrey. Large shrub, 8 to 10 feet at maturity, selected from aLouisianaprovenance. Should be more heat tolerant because of its southern origin. Flowers are mixed fertile and sterile, like the species. June flowering and 8 – 10 inch-long inflorescences, arching due to their weight, with sepals covering about 80% of the fertile flowers. Prof. Dirr suggests that cultivar ‘Angola Prison’ is possibly the same
