Arborescens ‘Hayes Starburst’
Synonyms: Double Annabelle
Origins: Discovered by Hayes Jackson in his garden in Anniston, Alabama, and named after him
Awards: None
Height & Width: 1m x 1.5m

A beautiful cultivar selected about 2005.  The first double flowered cultivar of Hydrangea arborescens.   The double yellowish white florets give a star-burst effect.  It flowers for several weeks making quite a show.  It will grow in sunny spots as well as lightly shaded locations.  It does not like wet sites so plant it in well drained soil. Ours was part of a Royal Horticultural Trial in 2008.
