A new and distinct cultivar of hydrangea plant named `JON01` characterized by its distinctive colour of flowers, being dark rosy-red.  It is a sport mutation of the variety Taube`, discovered in the summer of 2001 by the breeder Jos de Jong in Boskoop, The Netherlands.
