This distinct cultivar originated as a sport of the cultivar `Merritts Supreme`, and is distinguished by the unique pigmentation pattern which causes the florets and inflorescence to be both pink and white, and gives each floret a white center and four pink fan-shaped points at the outer edges, resulting in a pink and white flower at the peak of its bloom, not predominantly a pink flower. It has a compact growth habit and long lasting large flowers.
