A couple more pictures to whet your appetites.  The first one is Hydrangea serrata Beni Temari which you can find in the outer garden and the second is Hydrangea serrata Dolmyf, again in the outer garden.  Serratas prefer shade and have smaller leaves with a more marked serration around the edges than the macrophyllas.   The flowers are less showy than the macrophyllas and are of the lacecap variety but this hasn’t stopped these two looking magnificent this year.
