The most eye catching feature of this plant is the enormous flower heads, so densely packed with sterile florets that the cone shape takes on a lumpy appearance. This adds to their attractiveness as they grow to over 40cm long. This creates a problem because the stems are not always strong enough to hold the weight of them. We provide support for ours. They open with a green tinge, stay white for most of the season and then take on a pink hue as they age.
